Waking Up Early Without an Alarm

If you feel like the day flies by and you don’t ever have time to do what you planned to do, then waking up a few hours early might be a good goal to start with.
Though there is still a debate whether sleeping less is good for you or not, it is well-established that waking up at the same time, consistently, helps keep your body working at peak performance.
Since I am pushing to release HabitShaper v2, and working on my physics research, I find that a few extra hours each day can make a huge difference.
To get these extra hours in, on May 25th I made the following goal in HabitShaper:
“I will be waking up at 6:30 AM every day, by next month.
I will start today, with 10:00 AM.”
I am happy to report that I am waking up now around 6:40am, without an alarm!
The most important point about all of this is that I managed to get to an early wake-up time using HabitShaper, even though I was far from perfect in following the schedule. In fact, I only met my targets 60% of the time!
Here is the histogram so far. It shows that I slept beyond my target time several times. And yet, I am waking up easily at 6:30 now, and it hasn’t been a month yet.
