Randomized To-Do Lists

I posted before about how to use geeky dice when you have a large (nearly overwhelming) ToDo list. The idea is that this prevents you from doing only the fun and easy tasks.
More importantly, the process itself is fun!

However, my current list of HabitShaper v2.0 tasks has some items which are clearly higher priority.
Instead of switching back to “do highest priority first” mode (a.k.a. “do only top 3!”), I am using a hybrid method!

It’s really the kind of thing that should be implemented as software (and I might one day), but I am focusing on HS 2.0.
So, here’s how it works (first row stops at 6, because there are 6 items total):

hybridToDo

A todo list that combines priorities and randomness.

Now all you need is some random numbers!
I use RANDOM.org… plug in “from 1 to 21″, and whichever number you get tells you your next task!

Works for me…
What do you think?

I do the same thing!!! well sort of. I use a large vase and slips of paper with a particular task written on them. A hand over the top of the vase and a good shake to produce my randomness. But, I also cheat the odds for higher priority tasks by giving them a few more slips of paper. It works out well for me. But I must say I only use this method for personal en devours not for my professional use. I would but the vase would take up too much space on my already cramped desk!
