Installation joys!
I believe I fixed the problems and bottlenecks with the installation process.

(geeky tech details below)
(tech details: there are a lot of prerequisites when installing a .NET program, and I had to make sure the installer was able to verify each one before proceeding. I ended up using InnoSetup and ISTool; both are free installers that worked better than the paid ones I tried!)
