Bronze and Silver medals

When establishing a habit, I found that having short-term goals of “7 consecutive days” and then “14 consecutive days” really helped. Once those two milestones were reached, it became much easier to go on.

So, for encouragement, I made these medals. Each consecutive day of following a habit adds a tiny bit to the medal.

I am still undecided on the Gold medal (28 days? 30?). Also undecided on what should top that. Any ideas?

Milestones are definitely important..

another feature to add (or consider) would be if the program actually learns some of the habits of the user and sets up like random intermediate goals to keep the person motivated…i’m sure it’s not that easy to incorporate, but you know what i’m saying right?

Hi again Deep,

I think I understand what you are saying. As in, say Jimmy always seems to lose steam at around day 30 of a habit, while Sarah has trouble with days 45-50. So I would give them each some extra encouragement, but at different times. Is that what you meant?

At first glance, I think there won’t be enough data per user to be able to be very accurate. But it’s an interesting idea, and definitely possible. I’ll add it to my “requested features” list, and ponder it further.

Thanks for your input!
